Creating Assignments

Brightspace Assignments

Assignments can be used for both digitally submitted items and for in person assignments that are either turned in or observed in person. For assignments that are digitally submitted you can control if those are a text submission or if they are file submission.

Create An Assignment

  • To set up an assignment login to your HVCC Brightspace account
  • Select the course you want to set up an Assignment in
  • From the Nav Bar select Content
(Note: You can also do this from Gradeable Activities and create the assignment there, but it would then need to also be added to the module the assignment is for to be part of the course content)
  • Select the Module you want under Table of Contents you want to have the assignment for. If you do not have that Module created yet please set up your course modules first.
  • Select the Upload/Create button
  • From the dropdown list select New Assignment
  • A new page will open where you will be able to set up the Assignment.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
