Read-Only Course Data

One week after a course ends the course is changed to Read-Only. The process for viewing student work and activity in these courses is located in different areas than a live course. Most submissions are no longer accessible directly from the grades page and need to be accessed directly from the tool under Gradable Activities.

Grades Access

Faculty maintain the ability to view all previously entered grades. From the Grades page you can:

  • View Grades
  • Export Grades
  • Click "Enter Grades" to view feedback, no changes are able to be made
  • Preview student view of Grades

Discussions

  • Go to Gradable Activities select Discussions
  • View Discussion

Assignments

  • Go to Gradable Activities select Assignments
  • View Submissions
  • Click student work to view submission and timestamps

Quizzes

  • Go to Gradable Activities select Quizzes
  • View Grades
  • View the attempt logs and time stamps

Student Activity Logs

As this is only available for 30 days to request the student activity logs send an email to dlhelp@hvcc.edu with the student name and course that you need activity from.

Please note that the report we run will only look at the most recent 6 months of activity 

This looks at involvement with course content and activities, largely based on areas of possible active interaction by students. Information for areas such as Grades, Class Progress, or the Calendar are not included. Also note that interactions with content items are grouped under the most recent visit to that item by the user. It does not list every visit individually. System Login information through a browser is marked at midnight of the login date.
