About Creator+

Creator+, is a suite of content creation tools from D2L. This upgrade enhances course design with interactive elements, customizable layouts, practice questions, and multimedia capabilities, all designed to boost student engagement, accessibility, and comprehension. Creator+ is user-friendly, making it accessible for instructors without technical expertise.

Key features:

  • Insert Elements: Add interactive components following instructional design principles.
  • Practice Questions: Reinforce learning through formative assessments.
  • Layouts: Structure content with visual organization.
  • Advanced Media (Capture Web): Create and edit screen/video content with captions.
  • Content Templates: Quickly build and customize course content.

Where to Access Creator+?

All Creator+ features are accessed from the Content section of Brightspace.

  •  From Upload/Create menu, choose Create a File (Web Page)
  • Open the Creator+ Authoring Tools
    Location of Creator Authoring Tool on the Editor Bar Highlighted
  • Choose Insert Element or  Insert Practice or Layouts
  • Follow the prompts
  • Click the Insert button to add it to your content

Insert Elements

The Insert Elements allows you to add the following items into your content quickly and easily

  • Accordions
  • Tabs
  • Click and Reveal
  • Callout
  • Timeline
  • Stylized Quote
  • Flip Cards
  • Carousel
  • Hotspot

Insert Practice

With practices you can create formative, interactive questions in content pages. Students can get immediate feedback on their understanding of a topic outside of a formal assessment. 

Practice Types that are included: 

  • Dropdown Fill in the Blanks
  • Fill in the Blanks
  • Multi-Select
  • Sequencing
  • Sorting
  • True or False

Layouts

Using the Creator+ Layouts you can create panels that add structure and help organize your content. These layouts can be used with any of the elements. 

  • Two Panels
  • Two Thirds / One Third Panels
  • One Third / Two Thirds Panels
  • Three Panels

    *Note: In mobile view, panels stack vertically and will display differently on larger screens. It is recommended that you set up your Layouts on a desktop for accurate previewing.
