If you have created a survey for use in your course and want to view or export your survey results here are the steps to do that.
Survey Statistics
The statistics will allow you to view individual survey results. Here you can filter students bu those who have not made an attempt or view those who have along with their results. For surveys that are anonymous you will only be able to view the answers with no user data.
- From the course navigation bar, select Course Tools then select Surveys
- Click on the chevron to open the options menu and select Statistics.

- From the Statistics page you'll be able to filter and review submissions
Creating Reports
To get a report of all data from your survey you will need to set up a report for the survey.
- Go to the edit screen for your survey
- Select Reports Setup

- Select Add Report
- A survey report allows you to select how you want to export the data
- Summary Report: You can display aggregate data for multiple choice, true and false, Likert, multi-select, and matching question types. You can also display text responses for written response, short answer, and fill in the blanks question types.
- Individual Attempts: This report displays each attempt individually. You can choose to hide the user’s first and last name when the Individual Attempts report is viewed.
- Customize when you want the results to be available
- Make sure to select to make the results available to the desired roles
- HVC - Instructor (Non-Cascading): Use so that you will be able to view reports in your own courses
- HVC - Instructor Past Course Access (Non-Cascading): Use to access reports after courses have closed
- HVC - Student (Non-Cascading): Use if you would like students to be able to access reports
- HVC - Faculty TA (Non-Cascading): Use if you have a department head enrolled to your course who should also be able to view survey reports
- HVC - Leader (Non-Cascading): This role is often used in Organizations instead of the Instructor role, so should be selected for Organization surveys

- Click the Save button at the bottom of the screen
Viewing Reports
Once the report has been set up you can go back to the survey main page and select Reports from the survey menu

From there you can export the data to CSV or Excel or to view the results on screen click Generate HTML
