The majority of SUNY campuses share one Brightspace instance. This provides students taking courses at more than one campus easy access to all of their courses. The email address in Brightspace is associated with the campus that created your account. However, this email address may not reflect the campus where you are taking your courses. This means that all of your email notifications sent from Brightspace courses will go to the email that is designated in Brightspace.
If you have recently attended or transferred from another SUNY school, your notification settings might be set to your former school email account. This could cause issues with third-party tools such as VoiceThread.
Viewing your Brightspace Notification Email
On the HVCC Home page scroll to below your courses to the HVC User Widget.
This will tell you what email Brightspace will send all of your email notifications to.

Updating your Brightspace Notification Email
If you are no longer taking courses at the other campus or no longer have access to the email on the other campus, or just want to use HVCC as your notification email for all courses you will need to have SUNY Online update your email.

Viewing Brightspace Emails
Even if the Notification was sent to another email you can view the sent message in the Brightspace email tool.
From the HVCC homepage click on the Email Tool and select the Email tab to view all messages that have been sent to you within Brightspace
