Installing the UDS Client - for NON-HVCC Windows PCs

This article will outline all the steps required to install and use the UDS (VDI) Client on Windows. This is only required if the built-in HTML5 UDS viewer within your web browser is insufficient.

Installing and Using the UDS Client

You will need administrator privileges on your computer to complete these steps and install the UDS Client.

1. Go to https://vdi.hvcc.edu in your web browser, and sign in with your HVCC username and password.
2. Select UDS Client at the top of the page, then choose the Windows (exe) option to download the client.

3. Once downloaded, open/run the exe file.
4. Follow the installation wizard.
   1. On the Installer Language prompt, select your preferred language then select OK.
      
   2. On the Welcome to UDS Client Setup screen, select Next.
      
   3. On the License Agreement screen, select I Agree.
      
   4. On the Installation Complete screen, select Next.
      
   5. On the Completing UDS Client Setup screen, select Finish.
      
5. Once the installation is complete, return to https://vdi.hvcc.edu in your browser, and connect to a pool with the RDP connection option.
6. You will see this message (or similar) from your web browser. Select Open Link (or Allow, Open, etc). If there is a checkbox to Always Allow, check it.

7. Upon connecting for the first time, you will see 2 prompts.
   1. On the ACCESS Warning prompt, select Yes.
      
   2. On the "The publisher of this remote connection can't be identified" prompt, select Connect.
      
8. Once this is complete, you are now connected to the UDS RDP Session, and you will see a DUO Prompt. Choose a method to authenticate with DUO, and continue.

9. Once DUO MFA is complete, you will see a Windows login screen signing you in, followed by your Windows desktop. You are now signed into the virtual (or physical) Windows machine. The window will open in full screen mode and occupy all of your monitors if you have multiple monitors.
10. When you are ready to log out of the session, double-click the red LOGOFF button on the desktop.
