Copying Content from a Template Course to Your Course

  • Access the Blank Course Shell that you want to populate (You will be importing the content into this shell)
  • Select the "Gear" icon in the upper right corner, next to your name
  • Select "Import / Export / Copy Components" from the menu

  • Select "Copy Components from another Org Unit"
    • Click on the "Search for offering" button

  • Enter "Template" in field and select the "Search" button to bring up a listing of all template courses

  • Choose the radio button next to the course you want to import from (Ex. HVC-Online-Template) and select the "Add Selected" button

  • Verify that the correct course is about to be imported into the blank shell and select the "Copy All Components" button

    • If you have copied components before you may see the following pop-up window: 
      “Copy This Again? 
      The selected course 'HVC-Online-Template' had some or all elements copied into this course, are you sure you want to copy from it again?” 

    • Choose Yes 

  • Choose the check box for Content
  • Choose "Select individual items to copy."
  • Click on the Continue button
  • You will see an indication that the copy is in progress

  • When the indicator changes to "Copy Completed" you can select the "View Content" button to verify that the content is copied properly.
