Select WinSCP. Enter the hostname.

Enter your username.

Enter your password.

Select Yes to add the key fingerprint.

You now have a split view of local storage on the left and remote storage on the right.

Select a file on the left and drag it to right side. This uses the default of selecting binary or text transfer based on the file extension.

Depending on your configuration, you may already have drag confirmation set. If not, you can set it by select Options from the top menu, then selecting Preferences. Check the box labeled Drag & drop operations.

Below is an example of drag confirmation and how you can choose which transfer mode to use when you drop the item into the right side.
