Standard Course Name Structure

Cross-Listed Course Naming Convention

The cross-listed naming convention includes the semester, course name, course number, section, and cross-listed number followed by the letters MC or CC. MC is short for Master Course and CC is short for Child Course.

Examples:

Summer 2023 History of Fashion (ARTS-104-620) (D6202340-MC) - Master course, use this shell to build and teach

Summer 2023 History of Fashion (ARTS-104-615) (D6202340-CC) - Child course, do not use

Of note, the “Master” course shell is where faculty should build and teach their courses. The "Child" course shell(s) should not be available to students. Students from the "Child" course(s) have been joined (or Cross-Listed) in the Master course. Please note: High School Sections will not show in the course search WIRED view, but can be seen in the faculty class list on WIReD.
