Cross Listed Courses

Here is a quick guide to identifying your Crosslisted courses on Brightspace

Standard Course Naming Convention

The standard naming convention includes the semester, course name, course number, and section.

Standard Course Name Structure

Cross-Listed Course Naming Convention

The cross-listed naming convention includes the semester, course name, course number, section, and cross-listed number followed by the letters MC. MC is short for Master Course and if you see one that is followed by CC that is short for Child Course.

Examples:

Summer 2023 History of Fashion (ARTS-104-620) (D6202340-MC) - Master course, use this shell to build and teach

Summer 2023 History of Fashion (ARTS-104-615) (D6202340-CC) - Child course, should be inactive and not visible

MC course shell is where faculty should build and teach their courses. The CC course shell(s) should not be available to students. Students from the CC course section(s) have been merged (or Cross-Listed) to the MC course.

Please note: High School Sections will not show in the course search WIRED view, but can be seen in the faculty class list on WIReD.
