Access Network Shares / Drives Off Campus

You can access internal HVCC resources from off campus using either UDS or the Cisco AnyConnect VPN.

UDS

  • UDS is used to access a virtual or physical HVCC Windows computer remotely. This allows you to use HVCC-installed applications, see your HVCC Windows desktop, and access your HVCC network files and folders.
  • It can be used entirely within a web browser, or with a client installed on a Windows PC or a Mac.
  • Instructions on using UDS can be found here.

Cisco AnyConnect VPN

  • Cisco AnyConnect VPN is used to put your computer on HVCC's internal network remotely. This allows you to access resources on your computer as if you were on-campus, primarily any restricted network resources like Banner, as well as your HVCC network files and folders.
  • It can be installed on a Windows PC or a Mac.
  • Cisco AnyConnect VPN is already installed on any up-to-date HVCC-provided Windows laptop or MacBook. If it is not installed on yours, contact the IIT Help Desk.
  • Instructions on installing and using the Cisco AnyConnect VPN can be found here.
  • If you need assistance installing the VPN and setting up access to your network drives, contact the IIT Help Desk.
