Creating Links in D2L Content

Add Links to External Websites from Content
Select
Content
on the course navigation bar.
Select the
module or sub-module
where the link needs to be added.
Select the
Upload/Create
button.
From the drop down menu select
Create a Link
.
In the pop-up window enter text for the link in the Title field. To meet standards for users with disabilities, do not use a long URL as the link text to show.
Enter or paste the web address in the URL field. If pasting the URL, make sure that "http://" does not appear twice at the start of the URL.
Select the
Open as an External Resource
check box. If this option is not selected, the link will not work in most browsers.
Select
Create
.
Add Links to Other Parts of the Course Site from Content
Select
Content
on the course navigation bar.
Select the
module or sub-module
where the link needs to be added.
Select
Existing Activities
.
From the drop down menu, select one of the
tools
listed.
In the pop-up window, select the
activity
that needs to be inserted.
Add Links in the Brightspace Text Editor
Highlight the text
within the text area where you want to add the link. Remember for ADA compliance, the link need to be descriptive.
Click the
Insert Quicklink
(chain link) icon.
Select
Link
from the Insert Quicklink dialogue box.
Type or paste the link to the file in the
Link
field.
Provide the
Text
or confirm the text is what you want the link text to be.
Click
Save and Close
,
Insert or Update
, depending on where you are using the Brightspace editor.
